Marcel Charles Asquin, 1922 - 2004
Marcel Charles Asquin was born in Fabian Alberta on May 15, 1922 to French parents. He grew up in Drumheller, Alberta and served in the Italian Campaign during World War Two.
After the war, he earned a Masters Degree in Art Education and went on to work for the Calgary Public School Board as a teacher, principal and art supervisor for 37 years before retiring in 1982.
After retirement, Asquin moved to Salmon Arm, arriving in 1986. Asquin was very active with the Shuswap Film Society, and other art groups in the area. He was always interested in the silkscreen process and weaving.
Marcel Charles Asquin died in Salmon Arm on February 12, 2004, he was 81 years old.
