David J. Anderson, 1922 - 1977
David John L. Anderson was born in Edmonton, Alberta.
After serving with the RCAF overseas in World War II, Anderson studied graphic art at the Slade School of Art in London, England and the “London School of Arts and Crafts” (probably referring to the Central School of Arts and Crafts), London, England.
After returning back to Canada, Anderson studied at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto under Nicholas Hornyansky, graduating in 1949. He completed his studies at the Art Students League of New York.
In 1952 Anderson moved to Victoria, BC. and continued to produce works of art. He died in Victoria in 1977.
Anderson was a realist, and his preferred mediums included lithography, etching and watercolor painting.
